Bajo el lema “Compartir Entre Amigas Con Alegría”, las Damas Salesianas del Sur de la Florida realizaron un encuentro para motivar y compartir con sus voluntarias. El restaurant Diego’s Andalucía Tapas, en Coral Gables abrió sus puertas para recibir a este nutrido grupo de Damas Salesianas. El objetivo principal: estrechar lazos entre los capítulos y empezar a planificar sus próximos eventos y actividades.

El Sábado 5 de Diciembre del 2009, en la ciudad de Doral, Florida, nos reunimos varias damas salesianas del sur de la Florida, y algunas amigas y amigos de las damas, para compartir una mañana muy especial, donde pudimos reflexionar y aprender un poco más sobre este Tiempo de Adviento, y como prepararnos bien para recibir al Niño Jesús, en nuestros corazones.
Contamos para esta ocasión con la visita de nuestro querido padre Chema, desde Caracas; y con la asistencia de una maravillosa amiga: María Ungredda. Ambos nos regalaron unas charlas maravillosas de formación espiritual y salesiana.

America Developing Smiles “Pulguero” Flea Market (December 7, 2008 - Miami)
On the premises of the San Juan Bosco Parish in Miami, Florida, a group of women volunteers of America Developing Smiles organizes a twice-yearly thrift shop day or Pulguero. The collection of items for sale focuses on carefully selected household bargains and vintage fashion for all ages. The funds collected are destined to provide books for the parish catechism classes, and will help more than 400 children in the parish. All items are available for under $10.00.
ADS International Council North Region/Consejo Regional Institucional (C.I.R.) (

As part of the 40th anniversary of Asociacion Damas Salesianas, America Developing Smiles will hold its second Consejo Regional Institucional (C.I.R.) from November 6th through 9th, 2008, at Casa Manresa, Miami. This is a working encounter designed promote the ADS lifestyle of work and voluntarism by sharing processes, developing actions and accomplishing regional consolidation. Three days of seminars and training sessions will enhance volunteer knowledge and capabilities in areas such as fundraising, leadership, and strategic planning, as well as self-improvement and spiritual growth. This is an invitation only event for registered America Developing Smiles volunteers and members of its national and local boards of directors.

On October 6th, more than 500 of Miami’s most stylish women donning the latest fashions and this season’s ‘it’ bags converged at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami Hotel for a day of glamour, fashion, shopping, entertainment and philanthropy as the Miami-Dade Chapter of America Developing Smiles presented its annual ‘Seeds of Hope Extravaganza’ fundraiser, benefiting ADS Educational Centers in Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. The luncheon Masters of Ceremony were Ana Karina Manco and Reinaldo Perez, well known Venezuelan actors.Models wearing Silvia Tcherassi’s “RESORT 2012” Collection walked the runway looking flawless in gorgeous designs. Following the fashion show, Latin Grammy award winners “Chino y Nacho” performed hit tunes that got the entire crowd out of their seats. Venevision International held a special function of its internationally acclaimed "La Cena de los Idiotas" (Fools dinner). This light comedy has enjoyed more than 1,000 presentations amassing over 500,000 attendees in Spain, making it one of the most successful plays in the recent past. Directed by Julio Kaufman, actor, director and graduate of the Actors Studio, NYC, Fools Dinner features Margarita Coego, Marcos Casanova, Juan Manuel Cifuentes, Jordi Pons, Sergio Dore and Xavier Coronel. 4th. Annual “Wings of Hope” (March 2, 2006)
The group of America Developing Smiles-Boca Raton organized its 4th Annual Gala, dinner and dance was held at the Boca Raton Club on Friday March 2, 2006. The event’s MC was Hamlet Garcia, and it attracted more than 200 people to the Boca Raton Country Club. Live music and folk drums, “tambores,” made the night unforgettable. The women of America Developing Smiles-Boca Raton organized the 3rd Annual “Wings of Hope,” a gala dinner and dance masquerade party that included a silent auction and art exhibit. 2nd Annual "Wings of Hope" Dinner and Dance Gala (November 19, 2004)
A Gala dinner, dance and silent auction was held to celebrate the pre-holiday season. The special presentation by "cuatro" player, Andres Merchant was a particular highlight. The emcees for the event were Latin TV anchorwoman Marisela Toro, and Venezuelan actress Marian Valero. Live entertainment was provided by the Luis Gonzalez Band and included an exclusive performance by Tradición gaiteras, a Venezuelan "gaitas" group. Participants included more than 200 people. The location was at the Boca Raton Country Club. A Gala dinner and dance with live entertainment and silent auction. Emcees for the event were Hamlet García, from TV “Amigos Hispanos,” and Latin TV host and spokesperson for Venevision, Maite Delgado. Participants included more than 200 people. The event was held at Pete’s Grand Terrace, Boca Raton. The main supporters of the event included Veninvest, Mr. Gustavo Hernandez, U.B.S. 2nd Annual Semillas de Esperanza, A day of Fashion and Bazaar,
Wednesday, November 19, 2008 – Puerto Rico
America Developing Smiles hosted its second annual, “Semillas de Esperanza 2008”, a day of fashion and bazaar on November 19 at the Acquamarina at Ashford 1315 Avenue. The activity presented the renowned Miami designers Victoria Lopez Castro and Sazzing Jewelry. About 15 local additional merchants joined the bazaar. Attendance was above 80.
With this event, we raised funds to continue supporting Asociación Damas Salesianas centers and programs in Puerto Rico. We also continue to promoting the educational scholarships at the Maria Auxiliadora school in Barrio Obrero, where women of America Developing Smiles have recently installed an arts and craft and home economics program. “With our efforts we want to cooperate with existing catholic educational institutions seeking to promoting strong values for the most needy, looking to forge better citizens for tomorrow”, says Mariangel González, President ofe America Developing Smiles Puerto Rico. 1st “Semillas de Esperanza” (November 14, 2007)
An introductory fundraising cocktail and dinner party was held at the Longo– Gonzalez residence in Los Paseos in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 14th 2008. The Puerto Rico Local Board presented the new mission and explained the work of this new group through a lively and visual presentation. An informal modeling presentation was held courtesy of Victoria Lopez Castro—who flew in her collection from Miami—as well as the enjoyable works of local jewelry designer, Ana Morejon. More than 100 people attended the event. The funds raised were used to support ADS centers in Barrio Obrero and Orocovis, as well as the America Developing Smiles scholarship program placed with the Maria Auxiliadora school in Villa Palmeras, Barrio Obrero.
